PROP FIRMS · RULES VERIFIED 4 OCT 2026

Best prop firms for TradingView automation in 2026

There is no single best prop firm for automation. There is the firm whose written rules fit the way your TradingView alerts trade. We read the official rule pages of the six firms we already have MT5 setup guides for and put side by side what decides an automated challenge: EA policy, loss limits, news windows, hosting rules and native TradingView.

The short answer, firm by firm

  • FTMO: the clearest written permission. Its FAQ allows “algorithmic trading, EAs” as long as trading is legitimate. Third-party EAs are allowed, but they can collide with its maximum capital allocation rule.
  • The5ers: EAs allowed, with two conditions that matter for a bridge. The trader must own the EA source code, and stops must be visible on the platform.
  • FundedNext: automation only on MT4/MT5 accounts below $50,000. From $50,000 up, trading must be manual.
  • FundingPips and Goat Funded Trader: full automation only with your own EA, plus VPS restrictions on most models. Run MT5 on your own PC there.
  • TradeSmart: an MT5 broker, not an evaluation firm. There are no challenge limits; the limits are the ones you set.

Prop firm rules change often, sometimes monthly. Every figure below comes from the official pages listed in the sources at the end, read on 4 October 2026. Where we could not confirm a point, the table says check the current rules instead of guessing.

Six criteria that matter when TradingView does the clicking

1. Who has to own the EA

Most EA clauses were written for strategy EAs bought on a marketplace, not for a bridge that only executes your own Pine Script. The wording still applies to the EA on your chart. The5ers wants you to own the source code, FundingPips wants proof of ownership for full automation, Goat Funded bans third-party EAs and FundedNext bans EAs that integrate third-party apps. Before you pay for a challenge, ask support in writing whether a webhook bridge executing your own alerts is accepted, and keep the answer.

2. How the daily loss is measured

FTMO resets at 00:00 CE(S)T from that day's opening balance. Goat Funded checks the higher of balance or equity at 5 PM EST. FundingPips uses the higher of opening balance or equity. Floating losses count, so your own stop must fire earlier than the firm's. Turn your firm's numbers into per-trade risk with the drawdown calculator.

3. Static or trailing maximum loss

A static 10% floor (FTMO 2-Step, Goat 2-Step Standard, FundingPips 2 Step Standard) never moves. FTMO 1-Step trails at end of day, and Goat's Instant GOAT model uses a 6% trailing drawdown with a 3% daily limit. A trailing line punishes strategies that give back open profit, which is common in trend-following alerts.

4. News windows

Alerts do not read an economic calendar. FTMO's standard funded account blocks trades 2 minutes either side of selected news, The5ers High Stakes does the same around high-impact news, and FundedNext funded accounts count only 40% of profit inside a 10-minute window. A news filter on the execution side keeps the alert from firing into those windows.

5. Where MT5 is allowed to run

This is the rule most automation guides miss. FundingPips does not permit VPN or VPS connections, and Goat Funded bans VPS on most models bought from 12 August 2026. For those accounts, run MT5 on your own computer. On FTMO, FundedNext and The5ers we found no comparable rule on the pages we read; confirm it for your account type.

6. Same strategy on several accounts

FundingPips allows same-direction copying between your own accounts; FundedNext requires a distinct strategy per EA and caps each at $300,000; Goat Funded bans duplicating trades between evaluation accounts; FTMO applies a maximum capital allocation per strategy. Our copy-trading guide for multiple prop accounts covers the setup side.

How SignalForge fits inside those rules

SignalForge turns your TradingView alerts into MT5 orders on accounts you control. It does not choose trades for you, and it cannot make a firm accept automation it does not allow. What it adds is the guard rails the rules above ask for, per account:

  • Prop Firm Shield (Trader plan, $14.99/mo, 3 MT5 accounts): a daily loss guard per account, set a margin below your firm's daily limit. The Shield does not enforce a maximum (total) drawdown: keep your own margin and track it in your prop firm dashboard. Details in the Prop Firm Shield guide.
  • News filter: blocks new entries around high-impact news, the windows FTMO, The5ers and FundedNext restrict. See the news filter guide.
  • Time filter: per-account trading hours from the dashboard, converted to broker server time. Close signals are never blocked.
  • Execution: about 0.5 s median from webhook to confirmed order (measured 19 to 23 September 2026). TradingView itself takes a few seconds to send the webhook, so this is not a tool for the latency-sensitive styles the firms ban anyway.
  • Hosting: run the EA on your own PC, or on SFCloud where the firm allows hosted terminals. Not for FundingPips, nor for Goat Funded models where VPS is banned.

Test the rules before the money: our guide to backtesting prop firm rules shows how to replay a strategy against daily and maximum loss, and the FTMO EA rules and FundedNext EA rules pages go deeper on those two firms.

Honest limits

No bridge, filter or EA guarantees a pass. Prop Firm Shield stops a bad day on your terms; it does not turn a losing strategy into a winning one. SignalForge is an execution tool, not a signal provider or investment adviser.

FAQ

Which prop firm is best for TradingView automation?

There is no single winner. For written permission to automate your own strategy, FTMO has the clearest wording. The5ers allows EAs but asks you to own the EA source code. FundedNext only allows EAs on MT4/MT5 accounts below $50,000. FundingPips and Goat Funded restrict third-party EAs and VPS use on most models. Pick the firm whose rules fit how your alerts trade.

Do prop firms allow TradingView webhooks to MT5?

No firm we checked mentions webhooks by name. Their rules talk about EAs, and a bridge works through an EA on your MT5 terminal. Where a rule restricts third-party EAs or requires you to own the EA, ask support in writing whether a bridge that only executes your own TradingView alerts is accepted, and keep the reply.

Can I run the same TradingView strategy on several prop accounts?

It depends on the firm. FundingPips allows same-direction copying between your own accounts. FundedNext requires a distinct strategy per EA and caps each EA strategy at $300,000. Goat Funded bans duplicating trades between evaluation accounts. FTMO warns about its maximum capital allocation rule when the same strategy is shared.

Can I host the MT5 terminal on a VPS or SFCloud for a prop account?

Not everywhere. FundingPips says connecting through a VPN or VPS is not permitted, and Goat Funded prohibits VPS on its One Step, Two Step, Instant Premium and Pay Later accounts bought from 12 August 2026. For those, run MT5 on your own PC. On the other firms we found no such rule, but check before you buy.

Does native TradingView trading at a prop firm replace a webhook bridge?

No. Native integrations such as The5ers Hub or FTMO's TradingView platform let you place orders by hand from the chart. TradingView alerts still only notify or call a webhook; they do not trade the account on their own. Automating your alerts on MT5 still needs a bridge and the MT5 version of the account.

Will Prop Firm Shield make me pass a challenge?

No. It enforces the daily loss limit you set for each account, so a bad day stops on your terms instead of the firm's. It does not make a losing strategy profitable, and SignalForge does not provide signals or investment advice.
