TradingConnector vs SignalForge: cloud or local?
TradingConnector is one of the oldest TradingView-to-MetaTrader bridges. It works locally through a Chrome extension and a desktop app. SignalForge is cloud-native. If Chrome updates or crashes, TradingConnector stops working. SignalForge keeps routing. Here's the full comparison after a year of using it firsthand.
The architecture question.
This is fundamentally a cloud vs local question. TradingConnector runs locally — Chrome extension + desktop app + Windows. SignalForge runs cloud — webhook independent of browser, OS, or your PC's uptime. If your PC ever sleeps, updates or crashes, the architectures diverge sharply on what happens next.
- Requires Chrome extension
- Requires desktop app running
- MT4 supported
- Mature Pine Script examples
- Webhook independent of browser
- Works while PC sleeps / updates
- Prop Firm Shield (Trader plan)
- Native Spanish + English support
- AI signal filter Q3 2026
Feature by feature.
No spin.
TradingConnector has been a solid product for years. The local architecture is intentional — but in 2026 it's a trade-off most users no longer need to make.

Architecture: cloud vs local.
This is the fundamental difference. TradingConnector runs locally on your Windows PC. It requires a Chrome extension that listens to TradingView alerts, a desktop app (TradingConnector.EXE), and the entire chain has to stay running for signals to reach MT5.
SignalForge uses a cloud webhook architecture. TradingView sends alerts directly to our server via webhook URL. No Chrome extension, no desktop app, no browser requirement. This means it works on any operating system, survives browser updates, and routes alerts even when your PC is asleep.
Key difference: if Chrome updates or crashes, TradingConnector stops working. With SignalForge, the webhook is independent of your browser.
Real experience: I ran TradingConnector for a year. On two separate occasions a Chrome update broke the integration — and I was down for a day or two each time, waiting on a fix from their side. With a cloud webhook there is no browser in the path to break.
Price: 3× difference.
TradingConnector starts at approximately $14.99/month for a single MetaTrader connection. Yearly plans bring this down but require upfront payment.
SignalForge starts at $4.99/month with unlimited signals. The Trader plan adds Prop Firm Shield and news filter at $14.99/month — same price as TradingConnector's base, with significantly more features. The Pro plan with built-in AI ($29.99/mo) launches Q3 2026.
- Same $14.99 price point — SignalForge Trader vs TradingConnector base
- SignalForge Trader adds: Prop Firm Shield + news filter + Telegram fills + 3 broker accounts
- TradingConnector at $14.99 gives you: 1 broker connection, no shield, no news filter
AI filtering: coming Q3 2026.
TradingConnector is a pure bridge: it receives alerts and forwards them to MetaTrader without any analysis. Every signal gets executed, good or bad. And there's no roadmap to add intelligence.
SignalForge will ship a built-in AI signal filter that analyzes chart conditions, news timing and market regime before approving each trade.
SignalForge Pro at $29.99/mo will include a built-in AI filter. You define rules in plain English — e.g. “reject sells if the H4 trend is bullish” — and the AI applies them in real time, logging every decision. No other bridge in the category has this on its roadmap.
Prop Firm Shield.
If you trade prop firm challenges (FTMO, FundedNext, MyFundedFX), drawdown protection is essential. SignalForge includes Prop Firm Shield that automatically monitors your equity and halts trading before you breach the firm's drawdown limits.
TradingConnector has no equivalent feature. You would need to build drawdown logic into your Pine Script strategy or monitor manually.
- Real-time daily & overall drawdown monitoring
- Hard stop before threshold breach
- Per-account configurable drawdown buffers
- Works with FTMO, FundedNext, MyFundedFX & more
Where TradingConnector still wins.
We believe in honest comparisons. TradingConnector has genuine strengths — particularly if your stack matches its assumptions.
- MT4 support. If you trade MT4 (not MT5), TradingConnector handles it natively. SignalForge is MT5-first.
- Telegram signal routing. TC has a polished Telegram chat → MT5 parser. SignalForge works only with TradingView webhooks, not Telegram.
- Mature product. Years on the market with extensive documentation and Pine Script examples.
- Chrome dependency — automation breaks if browser crashes
- Windows-only desktop client
- No prop firm protection
- No native news filter or AI
WHERE IT STILL WINS

- Free trial — 14 days, no card
- Webhook flexibility — JSON, key=value, PC format all parsed
CATEGORIES SIGNALFORGE WINS
Different tools for different traders.
If you need MT4, Telegram routing, or ultra-low local latency today, TradingConnector is a solid choice. But if you want prop firm protection, cloud reliability without Chrome dependency, a price that scales with your account count, and AI signal filtering coming Q3 2026 — SignalForge is the better pick for most traders.
