How to connect Funded Trading Plus to MT5

  1. Open MT5 and go to File > Login to Trade Account (or File > Open an Account if the account is new).
  2. Type the login number exactly. It is not your email and it is not your client-area user name.
  3. Pick the server issued by Funded Trading Plus and type the trading password. The investor (read-only) password will connect but will not let the EA place orders.
  4. Check the bottom-right corner: a green connection with a latency figure means the terminal is live. A red "No connection" means the server or the password is wrong, or the terminal cannot reach the broker.

Platform and credentials

The credentials arrive from the firm after the evaluation is activated, and the help centre documents the MT5 login flow. The server is the firm's own, so it will not appear in a retail broker list: copy it from the dashboard or the email.

Before automating, confirm two things in the terminal: the account number matches the one in the dashboard, and the terminal is not in investor mode. A read-only login connects perfectly and rejects every order, which looks like a bridge failure when it is not.

Rules that matter when you automate

The rules that decide an evaluation are the daily loss, the maximum loss and the minimum days. The target is the visible number; the loss limits are the ones that end accounts.

Take the current values from the official rules page, put them in the challenge planner and read the number of losing trades it returns. That number, not the target, tells you whether the risk per trade is sane. If your strategy trades news or holds positions over the weekend, check those two clauses before the first alert: they are the most common automated breaches.

Does SignalForge work with Funded Trading Plus?

Yes, as long as your account runs on MetaTrader 5. SignalForge does not connect to the broker through an API: it places the order from the MT5 terminal where the EA is attached, using your own login. That is why the setup works the same on a demo, a live account or a prop-firm account on Funded Trading Plus: no broker agreement is needed, and no credentials leave your terminal.

Two practical consequences. First, the terminal must be running with the EA on a chart when the alert arrives; if MT5 is closed, the order is not placed. Second, the symbol in the alert must match the symbol in that terminal, which is what the next sections cover.

TradingView alerts to your Funded Trading Plus account

  1. Create the signal in TradingView and copy the webhook URL from the SignalForge dashboard (Connect > Copy webhook).
  2. In the TradingView alert, paste the URL into Notifications > Webhook URL and paste the JSON body the dashboard shows. The body needs the symbol, the side and your account token.
  3. Make sure the alert fires once per bar close for strategies, or once for manual ideas. A re-firing alert sends the order every time.
  4. Attach the SignalForge EA to one chart of the terminal and paste your webhook token in its input. The chart can be any symbol: the EA routes by the symbol in the alert.
  5. Send a test alert. The dashboard shows delivered when the EA confirms the order, not when TradingView fires.

Sizing that fits a challenge

The risk per trade is the number that decides whether a challenge survives a bad week. Take your own target, daily loss and maximum loss from the Funded Trading Plus rules page, put them in the challenge planner and it returns how many losing trades you can take, how much you need per day and how the account looks with a given balance. For the order itself, the lot size calculator turns that risk into lots on the symbol you trade, including XAUUSD and NAS100 variants.

Test with one lot, then scale

Send one alert with the minimum lot on the evaluation account and confirm the fill in the MT5 history before you run the strategy at full size. It costs one spread and it proves the token, the symbol, the permissions and the connection. If the fill appears in the terminal but not in the dashboard, the problem is the EA token, not the broker.

Common MT5 errors on Funded Trading Plus

  • "Invalid account". The pair login + server does not exist. Check the server first: a demo login does not authorise on a live server and the other way round. Then check the password: the client-area password and the MT5 trading password are different.
  • "No connection". The terminal cannot reach the broker. Try another server from the same broker, check whether your network blocks the MT5 ports, and confirm the broker is not in maintenance. A demo that has expired also shows this.
  • "Market closed". The symbol exists but its session is closed, or the broker disabled it for your account type. Metals and indices keep shorter sessions than forex.
  • "Invalid stops" (10016). The stop loss or take profit is too close to the current price for that broker. Widen the distance or let the EA manage the stop after the fill.
  • "Not enough money" (10019). The lot is too large for the free margin at that leverage. Recalculate with the margin calculator before changing the lot by hand.

FAQ

Does Funded Trading Plus use MT5?

Yes, MetaTrader 5 accounts are documented in the firm's help centre. Confirm the platform in your dashboard before you buy.

Where do I get the MT5 credentials for Funded Trading Plus?

From the firm, after the evaluation is activated. The server is the firm's own and is not in a retail broker list.

Why does the EA connect but no order is placed?

Usually a read-only or investor login, a symbol that does not match Market Watch, or an account that is already in breach. Check those three before touching the bridge.

How do I size trades for the evaluation?

Use the challenge planner with the firm's current limits and the lot size calculator for the symbol. Both are free and do not need an account.
