FTMO 1-STEP · RULES CHECKED OCTOBER 23, 2026

FTMO 1-Step:
one phase, one target.

The 1-Step FTMO Challenge goes straight to an FTMO Account after a single evaluation phase: 10% profit target, 10% maximum loss, 5% daily loss, and no time limit. Here is the full rule set and what it means when a bridge executes your alerts.

What each rule means when you automate

WHAT THE RULES MEAN

The 10% target is the only growth goal; everything else is protection. The 10% Maximum Loss is an equity line, not a balance line, so floating losses count against it at the worst moment. The 5% daily loss resets per trading day in CET, which trips traders who run overnight sessions in other timezones. And the 4 minimum days require at least one position per day: a quiet week can delay a passing strategy.

How SignalForge fits

SIGNALFORGE ON TOP

The whole evaluation runs on a demo environment, so an automation bridge is the natural fit: your TradingView alert fires, our webhook delivers it, and the SignalForge EA executes on the evaluation account. Its Prop Firm Shield adds a daily-loss guard toward the 5% Max Daily Loss, drawdown protection toward the 10% Maximum Loss, a news filter and a max-lot cap, so a miswritten alert cannot blow a rule by itself. Run the EA on your own MT5 terminal, or host it on SFCloud from $6.99/mo so the Mac/sleep/update problem disappears.

1-Step questions.

How is 1-Step different from the 2-Step?

One phase instead of two: the profit target is 10% here, while the 2-Step asks 10% first and then 5% in Verification. Loss limits are the same in both paths (10% max, 5% daily).

Can I use a Swing account on 1-Step?

No. Per FTMO's own site (checked October 23, 2026), the Swing account type is not offered for the FTMO Challenge: 1-Step. Swing exists on the 2-Step path.

Is there a time limit?

No. The Trading Period is unlimited; the only pace requirement is opening a position on 4 separate days.

Is the account real or simulated?

FTMO describes it as a simulated funded trading account with rewards paid out. The trading environment is demo; the rewards are real money per their programme.
